The Enjoyable Simplicity of Flash Games

With all the entertainment choices available online, why should anyone choose flash games? After all, compared to the technology behind some of the more advanced video games and consoles out there, flash games are definitely far behind. But while these may be true, it doesn’t mean they are no longer worthy entertainment options; in fact, this may explain why flash gaming are better than the others.

This is the reason why: flash games are simple. While other games are impressive in terms of graphics and sounds and are complicated in terms of simulation, flash games are quite straightforward when it comes to game play. Basically, this means anyone and everyone can play -even interested gamers who have very minimal gaming experience.

Although there are a number of video games who cater to casual gamers, most of the major ones in the market today are designed for hardcore gamers. With perhaps the basic motion sensor-based games of the Nintendo Wii as the exception, today’s role playing games, first person shooters, and fighting games, among others, require players to have immense gaming background in order to succeed. This isn’t the case with flash games.

But of course, this doesn’t mean flash gaming is not enjoyable; at the very least, they are very basic. For instance, the tower defense game is quite basic as it only tasks the player to build an offensive force in order to protect his or her base. If you look at it from this point of view, one would see that this is the main objective of many games today.

Therefore, flash games have offered the very core essence of what makes video games entertaining and enjoyable-without the superb graphics or sounds and the complex add ons. Flash games offer people what video games were like years ago, before the technology was available. These games still allow players to take on a simulated role in virtual reality, only a lot of the virtual reality is left to the player’s imagination.

If there’s one thing that be faulted against these games, it is perhaps its repetitive nature. Although the technology allows for varying difficulty as the game progresses, players will be tasked to do similar tasks again and again. For instance, in the tower defense game, players will basically do the same task (that is, protect the base) every level; despite the differences in level appearance, difficulty, or opponents, the goal and game play remains the same.

That said, flash games never cease to be enjoyable. Despite its simplicity, they manage to retain the very core of the entertainment that video games provide. The form may be different, but the content remains the same.

Flash games offer video game entertainment without the unnecessary clutter. In essence, they offer raw, unadulterated online fun.
